Choose protection for the contents

For papers, start with the stated fire conditions and the inside dimensions. The SFW123DSB manufacturer page currently lists 1.19 cubic feet, while our older catalogue snapshot says 1.23. We use the current manufacturer figure. Its one-hour fire and 24-hour water statements remain listing claims here until independently confirmed.

The 1503 listing describes a 30-minute fire claim and a 72-hour water claim. Different test conditions mean those durations should not be ranked as equivalent protection. Its keyed chest format suits flat documents; measure your actual folders before buying.

Read the limits before buying

We have not confirmed a burglary rating for either model. A dual key on the SFW123DSB can disable combination access; it is not a substitute for knowing the combination. Do not assume a safe protects every kind of electronic media.

For access-focused storage, see our biometric gun safe comparison. Learn what fire-rating claims mean and compare SentrySafe with Honeywell.

Where the numbers come from

Manufacturer and listing claims stay labelled until confirmed in a certifier’s directory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does fire resistance mean waterproof?

No. Fire and water claims describe separate conditions. Check the depth and duration of a water claim, and whether its source is the maker or an independent directory.

Why are there no numeric scores?

Our scoring method is awaiting approval. We publish the underlying specifications and their sources without assigning numbers.
